Symposium Desk
Registration and enquiries will be at the Symposium desk located in
the lobby of the hotel. Registration staff will be in attendance
from 1-3 of April.

Zhangzhou China Merchants
Economic and Technological Development Zone (referred to as CMZD), one
of the state development zones, locates in the southern Xiamen Bay in
China’s southeast coast, which stays among the Three Economic Zones of
Shanghai, Taiwan and Hongkong. CMZD is one of the important parts in
Fujian Western Straits Economic Zone, and plays a leading role in
Zhangzhou port development.
Passport and Visa
A valid passport and a visa are required for entry into China. Visas
can be obtained from your local Chinese Embassy or the nearest
Consulate General. Japanese and Singaporean participants holding a
private passport and staying in China for not more than 15 days do
not need a visa. Early registration is advised so that adequate time
is allowed for obtaining visas.To obtain a business visa,
participants can provide passport information at online registration
and a scanned copy of passport so that the organizer can prepare and
send an official visa invitation letter, which lists the city where
the applicant should apply for the visa, the passport data, the
gender of the applicant and the accompanying persons, the date of
entry and the length of stay. Alternatively, participants can apply
for a tourist visa through a travel agent after booking air tickets
and completing hotel reservation.
Currency
In
China, only Chinese yuan is used. However, exchange centers can be
found at airports, banks, most hotels and large shopping centers.
The exchange rate is about USD 1 = CNY 6.2 yuan and EURO 1= CNY 8.0
in March 2013.
When exchanging money, please keep your receipt, which you will need
in order to change any remaining Chinese yuan back to foreign
currency when leaving China. Visa, Master, American Express are
accepted in the hotel. It is difficult to draw cash with credit
cards.
Insurance
The Symposium organizer
does not accept any liability for personal accidents or loss or damage
to the private property of any participants during the symposium or
indirectly arising from attending the symposium. It is advisable that
participants should take adequate travel and health insurances before
leaving their own countries.
Transfer between the Airport and the Symposium Hotel
To get to CMZD, you have to fly to Xiamen, the most famous coastal city
of Fujian Province. Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport is about 40
kilometers to CMZD, and it is costly to take a taxi. The Organizing
Committee will arrange complimentary shuttle transportation for
Symposium participants on the following dates. Please arrange your
itinerary accordingly.
March 31st – Whole-day airport and train station pickup
April 1st – Morning shuttle to airport and train station
The detailed time schedule will be announced before or during the
Symposium.
